Old School Meets Twitter

It was bound to happen; the combination of social media and design.  John Kestner's 'tableau' scans any photograph placed in its drawer and posts it to a Twitter account.  Conversely, digital images posted to the Twitter feed appear in the drawer as physical photographs.  The only suggestion that this table is more than it appears is the glowing drawer knob that slowly changes colour.

Now if they could just do this with food ...

  1. Wow, what a great concept! Mind I Tweet this? Hah!

  2. Be my guest sir. I look forward to reading more Tweets from your table!

  3. Can we stuff some bread, meat and cheese in it and it makes a sandwich? :-) I'd like to see something like this that scans USPS bills, files it in a dbase, updates a calendar with the due date, schedules a check from my online bank account and shreds the paper. That would be cool.

  4. Rufus! So good to see you. I like the way you think ... my only issue is giving up control on the billing thing. I've had a couple "scheduled" payments go awry and been dinged interest as a result.

But I'm totally into your sandwich idea.
